Extension ng opening of classes, ikinatuwa ni Sen. Tolentino

Natuwa si Senator Francis Tolentino at sinang-ayunan ang panukala na maiurong ang petsa ng pagbubukas ng mga klase sa tuwing may kalamidad o pandemiya.

“We thank President Duterte for enacting into law this crucial piece of legislation, which would allow the opening of classes beyond August, most especially with the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic,” sabi nito.

Bukod kay Tolentino, ang panukala ay isinulong din nina Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Sens. Sherwin Gatchalian at Joel Villanueva.

Diin nito, kung susuriin ang kasalukuyang sitwasyon, matindi ang pangangailangan na maiurong ang muling pagsisimula ng klase dahil hindi pa ganap na handa ang Department of Education o DepEd.

Samantala, sinabi ni Gatchalian na napakahalaga na maging ‘flexible’ ang petsa ng pagbubukas ng klase matapos ang Agosto dahil hindi pa rin nakakasiguro sa mga banta na dala ng COVID-19.

Aniya, wala man mangyayaring ‘face to face classes,’ nalalagay pa rin sa alanganin ang mga mamamahagi ng mga learning modules maging ang mga estudyante at mag-aaral.
