P150-M halaga ng smuggled car parts, nasabat ng BOC

Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) katuwang ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang P150 milyong halaga ng hinihinalang smuggled car parts.

Nagmula ang smuggled car parts mula sa China.

Sa bisa ng Letter of Authority (LOA) at Mission Order (MO) ng BOC, ni-raid ang Maxtro Marketing Corporation at Bestat Auto Parts Corp. sa bahagi ng no. 419 Quirino Highway, Barangay Talipapa sa Quezon City bandang 12:30 ng tanghali, June 26.

Pagmamay-ari ang auto parts store at limang warehouse ng isang Filipino-Chinese businessman.

Sa kasagsagan ng inspeksyon, nakita ng raiding team ang limang warehouse sa loob ng compound kung saan nakatambak ang iba’t ibang spare parts, car accessories, truck parts, auto parts, at iba pang gamit mula sa mga kilalang Japanese car manufacturers tulad ng Toyota at Mitsubishi.

Nakita rin sa compound ang packaging materials na may naka-imprint na “Made in Japan”.

Nagbabala naman ang BOC Intelligence Group (IG) sa publiko na maging maingat at alerto laban sa mga modus operandi ng ilang negosyante.

Tiniyak din ng ahensya na patuloy na poprotektahan ng gobyerno ang publiko mula sa mga mapansamantalang traders.
