Chartered flights lulan ang mga repatriated OFW ipaprayoridad ng CAAP

Gagawing prayoridad ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) ang mga chartered flights para sa mga repatriated OFWs.

Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Public Accounts, sinabi ni CAAP Deputy Director General Capt. Donald Mendoza na uunahin nila araw-araw ang chartered flights ng mga OFWs.

Ito ay matapos ihayag ni Foreign Affairs Usec. Sarah Lou Arriola na mabagal ang repatriation sa mga OFWs dahil sa flights cap na itinakda ng CAAP.

Bukod dito, ini-assign din sa kanila ng CAAP na tuwing Lunes, Huwebes at Sabado ang chartered flights dahil ang ibang araw ay para naman sa commercial flights.

Sinabi naman ni Mendoza na ang Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) ang nagtatakda ng cap sa chartered flights na siya namang itinanggi agad ni Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III na nasa hearing din at myembro ng IATF.

Paliwanag pa ni Maendoza, nakakatanggap lamang sila ng flight clearances at wala silang restriction o disapproval na ginagawa para sa chartered flights ng mga OFWs pauwi ng bansa.

Mula sa 6,000 na mga OFWs na napapauwi sa Pilipinas kada Linggo ay aabot na sa 14,000 na mga OFWs kada Linggo ang mare-repatriate dahil sa pag-alis ng limitasyon sa mga OFW chartered flights.
