Bilang ng nasawing Pinoy na stranded sa Saudi Arabia, 350 ayon sa PH envoy

107 at hindi 50 lang gaya ng unang napaulat ang bilang ng mga nasawing Pinoy sa Saudi Arabia dahil sa COVID-19.

Ayon kay Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Adnan Alonto, mayroong 350 na mga Filipino na nasawi sa nasabing bansa ang stranded pa at hindi pa maiuwi sa Pilipinas.

Sa 350 na nasawi, sinabi ni Alonto na 107 ang pumanaw dahil sa COVID-19 habang 246 naman ang non-COVID.

“I understand the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease) already made a pronouncement na COVID-related deaths natin will have to be buried here in Saudi Arabia, yun po yung narinig ko at napakinggan ko earlier,” ayon kay Alonto.

Ani Alonto, ‘natural causes’ ang ikinamatay ng ibang Pinoy habang ang iba ay ‘crime related’.

Sinabi ni Alonto na ang pag-iral ng lockdown sa Pilipinas at sa Saudi Arabia ang dahilan kaya stranded ang mga bangkay ng mga OFW.

Una nang sinabi ng DOLE na 282 ang pumanaw na Pinoy sa Saudi at 50 dito ay nasawi sa COVID-19.
