Batas na nagtatatag ng National Academy of Sports (NAS) System malaking tulong sa mga atleta
Umaasa ang Palasyo ng Malakanyang na magiging highly-talented at competent ang mga atletang Filipino sa bansa.
Ito ay matapos lagdaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Republic Act Number 11470 na nagtatatag ng National Academy of Sports (NAS) System.
Ayon kay Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, umaasa ang palasyo na magkakakroon ng world class recognition ang mga atleta at patuloy na magbibigay ng karangalan sa bansa.
“Our country has proven its capability to compete internationally through its recent hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games, where we were also able to showcase the abilities of our athletes. The NAS System will further support the development of our student-athletes towards becoming highly-talented, competent, and exceptionally gifted athletes who will continue to give world-class recognition and pride to our nation,” pahayag ni Andanar.

Sa ilalim ng bagong batas, isasama na sa secondary education program ang special curriculum sa sports.
