Pagtaas ng unemployment rate sa bansa epekto ng pandemic ng COVID-19 ayon sa DOLE

Epekto ng pandemic ng COVID-19 ang pagtaas ng unemployment rate sa bansa.

Reaksyon ito ng Department and Employment (DOLE) matapos makapagtala ang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) ng record-high na unemployment rate na 17.7 percent o katumbas ng 7.3 milyon na mga walang trabaho.

Ayon kay Labor and Employment Sec. Silvestre Bello III, inaasahan na ito ng ahensya dahil ang pandemic ng COVID-19 ay talagang nagdulot ng krisis sa ekonomiya.

Dahil aniya sa pagpapairal ng community quarantine, napakaraming establisyimento ang napilitang magsara pansamantala o ‘di kaya ay magpatupad gn flexible work arrangements.

Milyun-milyong manggagawa ng formal at informal sectors ang naapektuhan nito ayon kay Bello.

Ani Bello, nahigitan na ng April 2020 unemployment rate ang 10.3 percent na unemployment rate na naitala noong 1998 sa bansa.

Ngayong unti-unti na aniyang nakapagbubukas ang mga kumpanya, inaasahan ni Bello na makare-recover na din ang labor market.
