DFA, nagpaliwanag sa biglang pagtaas ng mga Pinoy abroad na nagpositibo sa COVID-19

Nilinaw ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang biglang pagtaas ng bilang ng mga kumpirmadong kaso ng COVID-19 sa mga Filipino abroad.

Ayon sa kagawaran, batay sa iniulat ng Foreign Service Posts, mahigit-kumulang 2,300 overseas Filipinos ang bagong kaso ng nakakahawang sakit hanggang May 31.

80 porsyento ang itinaas nito mula sa datos noong May 30.

Dahil dito, pumalo na sa 5,184 ang confirmed COVID-19 cases sa overseas Filipinos.

“The spike in numbers is due to some late reports received by our Posts in the Middle East where many Host Governments implement strict data privacy and confidentiality rules,” paliwanag ng DFA.

Maliban sa mga kaso ng COVID-19, 1,174 naman ang bagong napaulat na gumaling sa bahagi ng Middle East.

“Just as significant, no new fatalities due to COVID-19 were reported today. In fact the number of fatalities has decreased by one from yesterday to 339, after 1 reported death in Europe was delisted after confirmation that the patient remains to be in critical condition,” dagdag pa ng kagawaran.

Tiniyak naman ng DFA na patuloy silang makikipag-ugnayan sa mga gobyerno sa iba’t ibang bansa para matutukan ang lagay ng mga Filipino ukol sa COVID-19.
