180 kilo ng hindi rehistradong gamot, nasamsam ng BOC

Nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of NAIA ang 180 kilo ng ilegal na gamot noong May 28.

Ayon sa ahensya, ang kargamento mula sa Xiamen, Fujian, China ay unang idineklara bilang “vitamin pills” at naka-consign sa isang lalaki mula sa Muntinlupa City.

Nagkakahalaga ang nasabat na hindi rehistradong gamot ng P700,000.

Sa isinagawang physical examination, napag-alamang walang License to Operate at Certificate of Product Registration mula sa Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Noong May 6, naglabas ang FDA ng babala sa publiko laban sa pagbili at pag-inom sa nasabing hindi rehistradong Chinese medicines.

Dadaan ang kargamento sa seizure at forfeiture proceedings dahil sa paglabag sa Section 1400 (Misdeclaration) na may kinalaman sa Section 117 (Regulated Goods) at Section 1113 (Property Subject to Seizure and Forfeiture) ng Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).

Tiniyak naman ni NAIA District Collector Carmelita Talusan na mananatili silang alerto para bantayan ang borders ng bansa laban sa pagpasok ng misdeclared goods.
