China, naglagay ng missiles sa South China Sea

Naglagay ng advanced surface-to-air missile system ang Chinese military sa isla sa South China Sea na kasama sa mga teritoryong pinag-aagawan ng China, Vietnam at Taiwan.

Sa report ng Fox News, nagpakita ng satellite imagery mula sa ImageSat International kung saan mayroong dalawang baterya ng walong surface-to-air missile launchers ang nakuhanan ng larawan sa Woody Island.

Makikita din sa larawan ang isang radar system.

Ang Woody Island ay bahagi Paracel Island na pinag-aagawang teritoryo sa South China Sea.

Ayon sa ulat, dumating sa nasabing isla ang mga missiles noong nakaraang linggo. Sa satellite image kasi ng isla noong February 3 wala pa ang nasabing mga pasilidad sa isla. At unang nakita ang missiles noong February 14.

Nitong weekend, iniulat naman ng The Dimplomat magazine na nagtatayo ang China ng helicopter base sa Duncan Island.
