Walang naapektuhang Pinoy ng COVID-19 sa New Zealand – PH ambassador

Iniulat ni Philippine Ambassador Jesus Domingo na walang naapektuhang Filipino sa COVID-19 sa New Zealand.

Sa Laging Handa press briefing, sinabi ni Philippine Ambassador Jesus Domingo na walang nai-report mula sa New Zealand government at Filipino community sa nasabing bansa.

Ngunit, naapektuhan aniya ang mga Filipino pagdating sa kanilang trabaho.

“Walang naapektuhan in terms of ‘yung sakit mismo. Pero ang effect was mainly one, many of the frontliners, the nurses, essential workers are Filipino. Pangalawa, may maraming mga laid off sa trabaho,” pahayag ni Domingo.

Mayroon naman aniyang natanggap na tulong-pinansiyal ang mga apektadong Filipino sa New Zealand mula sa gobyerno sa pamamagitan ng AKAP assistance ng DOLE.

“So in that case, meron tayong mula sa DOLE ‘yung AKAP assistance of 200 dollars. Pino-process ang application for that assistance through our embassy or POLO at ‘yung iba lumakapit samin re immediate assistance like pagkain,” dagdag pa ni Domingo.
