BREAKING: NTC, naglabas ng cease and desist order vs ABS-CBN
Naglabas ang National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ng cease and desist order laban sa TV network na ABS-CBN.
Sa inilabas na abiso, sinabi ng komisyon na ito ay bunsod ng expiration ng legislative franchise ng istasyon.
Kasunod nito, ipinag-utos ng NTC sa ABS-CBN na itigil ang lahat ng TV at radio broadcast operations sa buong bansa dahil sa anila’y “absent a valid Congressional Franchise as required by law.”
“ABS-CBN was also given ten days from receipt of the Order to respond as to why the frequencies assigned to it should not be recalled,” sinabi ng komisyon.
May 4 nang mag-expire ang 25 taong prangkisa ng TV network para makapag-operate ng TV at radio broadcasting stations.
“Upon the expiration of RA 7966, ABS-CBN no longer has a valid and subsisting congressional franchise as required by Act No. 3846,” saad sa abiso.
Mag-iimplementa ang NTC Regional Offices ng closure order sa nasasakupan.
Magtatakda ang NTC ng pagdinig para sa kaso sa madaling panahon pagkatapos maalis ang enhanced community quarantine.
“After receipt of ABS-CBN’s response, the NTC shall schedule the case for hearing at the earliest time after the Enhanced Community Quarantine is lifted by the Government,” dagdag ng komisyon.
