Pinagbibitiw sa pwesto si Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ng ilang senador.
Sa inihaing Senate Resolution 362, hiniling ng mga senador ang “immediate resignation” ni Duque kasunod ng naging aksyon nito sa gitna ng COVID-19 crisis sa bansa.
Base sa resolusyon, sinabi ng mga senador na ito ay dahil sa anila’y “failure of leadership, negligence, lack of foresight, and inefficiency in the performance of his mandate as the Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH) resulting in poor planning, delayed response, lack of transparency, and misguided and flip-flopping policies and measures in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic that endangered and continue to endanger the lives of our healthcare professionals, other frontliners, and the Filipino people.”
Nasa 14 na senador ang lumagda sa nasabing resolusyon.
Kabilang dito sina Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senators Nancy Binay, Joel Villanueva, Imee Marcos, Sherwin Gatchalian, Ramon Revilla, Panfilo Lacson, Sonny Angara, Grace Poe, Francis Tolentino, Manny Pacquiao, Ronald dela Rosa at Lito Lapid.
