WATCH: Personal na impormasyon ng COVID-19 patients hindi ilalantad sa publiko

Nilinaw ng Inter Agency Task Force on Infectious Diseases na hindi sa publiko, kundi sa Department of Health (DOH) lamang ilalahad ang mga personal na impormasyon ng mga pasyenteng tinamaan ng COVID-19.

Ayon kay Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexi Nograles, tagapagsalita ng IATF, walang dapat na ikabahala ang mga pasyente ng COVID-19 dahil mapapangalagaan pa rin ang kanilang pagkakakilanlan.

“We’re not telling the patients to disclose to the public. We’re telling the patients to disclose to the DOH all accurate and honest information,” pahayag ni Nograles.

Kailangan lamang aniya ang personal information para mapaigting pa ang contact tracing. Ito ang pagtunton sa ilang indibidwal na nakasalumuha ng COVID-19 patients.

Ayon kay Nograles, ang DOH ang repository at safekeeper ng impormasyon.

Kinakailangan aniya ng DOH na makipag ugnayan sa law enforcement agency gaya ng Philippine National Police at local government units para sa contact tracing.

“The DOH ang siyang repository and safekeeper ng information. But DOH in the context of contact tracing may ask LGUs, and law enforcement agencies to help in contact tracing. And to do that, DOH must necessarily share the info with these enforcers but mindful of the provisions of the Data Privacy Act,” pahayag ni Nograles.

Wala aniyang karapatan ang mga pasyente na magsinungaling o tumangging magbigay ng makatitohanang impormasyon dahil nasa state of calamity ang Pilipinas dahil sa COVID-19.

May karampatang parusa aniya para sa sinumang magsisinungaling pati na ang sinumang magbubunyag ng impormasyon sa publiko.
