PAGCOR, naglabas ng P12B bilang tulong sa kampanya ng gobyerno laban sa COVID-19

Naglaan ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) ang P12 billion cash dividends sa National Treasury para saluhin ang epekto sa ekonomiya ng bansa ng coronavirus disease -2019 (COVID-19).

Ayon kay PAGCOR Chairman at CEO Andrea Domingo ang nasabing halaga ay mas malaki ng 44.74% kumpara sa nakasaad sa Republic Act 7656, kung saan inaatasan ang mga government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) gaya ng PAGCOR na mag-remit ng 50% ng kita nito sa pamahalaan.

Ayon naman kay Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez, ang remittance na ito ng PAGCOR ay malaking kontribusyon sa hakbangin ng pamahalaan na labanan ang matinding epekto ng COVID-19 sa kita ng gobyerno.

Maliban sa nasabing P12 billion cash dividends, ang PAGCOR ay nauna nang nag donate ng kabuuang P2.5 billion to sa national government bilang tulong na labanan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
