PUP lumikha ng local version ng ethyl alcohol

Nakalikha ng lokal na bersyon n gethyl alcohol ang Institute for Science and Technology Research (ISTR) ng Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP).

Tulong ito ng unibersidad lalo pa at matindi ang pangangailangan sa alcohol ng bansa dahil sa paglaganap ng sakit na COVID-19.

Ayon sa PUP-ISTR, tumutugon sa requirements at standards ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang nilikha nilang alcohol.

Mayroon nang pilot batch na nagawa noong March 11.

Inaasahan ang mas marami pang batch ng alcohol ang gagawin sa suusunod na mga araw.

Ayon kay Dr. Armin S. Coronado, ISTR Director, sa susunod na linggo kasi ay darating ang raw materials para dito.

Kapag dumating ang raw materials ay magtutuloy-tuloy na ang produksyon sa Engineering and Science Research Center (ESRC).

Ang team na lumilikha ng alcohol ay pinangungunahan nina Dr. Coronado at Licensed Chemist at Faculty Researcher Christian Jay B. Cambiador.

Target nilang makagawa ng 20 gallons ng alcohol kada month.
