Trilateral Security Conference sa pagitan ng Pilipinas, Indonesia at Malaysia idinaos sa Zamboanga City

Nagdaos ng Trilateral Security Conference ang Indonesia, Malaysia at Pilipinas.

Isinagawa ito sa Garden Orchid Hotel, Zamboanga City noong Miyerkues, March 5, 2020.

Ayon sa Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Mindanao Command (AFP-WestMinCom) ang conference ay dinaluhan ng mga kinatawan mula sa General Headquarters ng AFT at mga counterparts nito sa Indonesia at Malaysia.

Kabilang sa tinalakay sa pulong ang sumusunod na mga agenda:

– Operational Environment of the Tri-border Area
– Kidnapping Trends in the High Seas
– Modus Operandi of Threat Groups
– Government Initiatives and Efforts
– Current Courses of Action of the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia in Addressing the Kidnapping of Persons in the Tri-border Area
– Identifying the Gaps and Challenges in Securing the Tri-border Area

Sa kaniyang pahayag sa conference, sinabi ni WestMinCom chief Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana na ang pagpapatupad ng seguridad ay isang “shared responsibility”.

“The improvement of joint operation capabilities is assured through our coordinated air and sea patrols in maritime and land border areas. This is an efficient measure as we enhance our intelligence and information sharing to thwart kidnapping, piracy, and incursion of foreign militants within our territorial borders,” ayon kay Sobejana.
