Travel ban sa Taiwan, pinag-aaralan na rin ng Inter-Agency Task Force

Ikinakasa na ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases na irekomenda kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na magpatupad na rin ng travel ban sa Taiwan.

Ito ay dahil sa patuloy na paglaganap ng sakit na 2019-novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD).

Sa “Laging Handa” press briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Gerard Bayugo na ito ay para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga Filipino.

Sa ngayon, 18 kaso ng coronavirus na ang naitala sa Taiwan.

Sa panig ni Labor secretary Silvestre Bello III, sinabi nito na 120,000 na overseas Filipino worker (OFW) ang nasa Taiwan, hindi pa kasama ang nasa 20,000 na undocumented na OFW.

Sakali mang matuloy ang travel ban sa Taiwan, sinabi ni Bello na may nakahanda namang ayuda ang pamahalaan sa
mga apektadong OFW.
