LOOK: PCG, nagsagawa ng firefighting exercises kasama ang Japan Coast Guard

Nagsagawa ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ng firefighting exercises sa bahagi ng South Harbor, Port Area sa Maynila katuwang Japan Coast Guard (JCG), Miyerkules ng umaga.

Nagkaroon ng drill scenarios ang PCG at JCG Mobile Cooperation Team kung saan nakatanggap ng distressed report ang PCG mula sa BRP Malabrigo (MRRV 4402) na may sakay na 38 Filipinong crew members na nakaranas ng sunog bunsod ng short circuit.

Sa nasabing firefighting exercises, ipinadala ng PCG ang BRP Kalanggaman (FPB 2404) para magsagawa ng search and rescue (SAR) operations sa barko.

Ligtas na nasagip ang lahat ng crew members at idineklarang nasa maayos na kondisyon.

Bahagi ang nasabing aktibidad ng limang araw na practical training course para sa mga tauhan ng PCG katuwang ang Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Layon nitong mapagbuti ang kapasidad ng PCG sa vessel operations, maintenance planning, at maritime law enforcement.
