30 distressed OFWs sa Lebanon, nakauwi ng Pilipinas ilang araw bago ang Pasko

Tiyak nang magiging “merry” ang Pasko ng 30 Overseas Filipino Workers galing Lebanon.

Ito ay makaraang makauwi sila ng Pilipinas ilang araw bago mag-Pasko.

Pawang biktima ng human trafficking ang unang batch ng mga OFW na dumating sa bansa araw ng Linggo (Dec. 22) sakay ng Etihad Airways flight EY 0424.

Maliban sa mga OFWs, mayroon ding napauwi na limang menor de edad.

Sinagot ng Migrants Workers’ Affairs unit ng Department of Foreign Affairs ang gastusin sa pagbalik sa bansa ng mga OFW at kanilang pamasaheo pauwi sa kani-kanilang mga tahanan.

Pinagkalooban din sila ng financial assistance na USD 100 bawat isa.

Tiniyak naman ng DFA na hahabulin ng Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) ang mga nambiktima sa mga OFW.
