Budgetary requirement para sa Department of Filipinos overseas, pasado na sa komite sa Kamara

Lusot na sa House Committee on Appropriations ang budgetary requirement na gagamitin para sa pagtatatag ng Department of Filipinos Overseas and Foreign Workers.

Ayon kay House Committee on Re-organization chair Mario Vittorio Marino, P5 bilyon ang kakailanganing pondo para sa bagong departamento.

Kukunin ito mula sa kasalukuyang budget ng mga ahensya na mapapasailalim dito.

Kabilang dito ang Office of Migrant Workers Affairs, Commission on Filipino Overseas, Philippine Labor Offices, International Affairs Bureau, POEA at OWWA.

Bukod aniya sa hirap at abuso na nararanasan ng ibang OFWs, malaki rin ang kanilang ambag sa ating ekonomiya.

Base kasi sa tala, 10% ng GDP ng bansa ay mula sa remittance ng mga OFW.
