Malacañang: 2020 National Budget masusing bubusisiin ni Pangulong Duterte

Welcome sa Palasyo ng Malacañang ang pagpasa ng Senado sa 2020 General Appropriations Bill (GAB) sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa araw ng Miyerkules.

Sa botong 22-0, walang negative vote at abstention, inaprubahan ng Senado ang P4.1 trilyong national budget para sa susunod na taon.

Hindi nakaboto ang nakakulong na si Senator Leila de Lima at si Senator Manny Pacquiao.

Una nang naaprubahan ng Kamara ang bersyon nito ng 2020 budget noong September 20.

Magtitipon na ang bicameral conference committee para talakayin ang pagkakaiba ng kanilang mga bersyon ng 2020 budget.

Sa isang pahayag Miyerkules ng gabi, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo na umaasa ang Malacañang na hindi mababalam ang pag-apruba ng bicam sa 2020 budget dahil lang sa ‘partisan discussion’.

“The Executive Branch hopes that the Bicameral Conference Committee of the Legislature would be able to arrive at a considered decision in reconciling the conflicting provisions found in the two versions of its respective houses without prolonged partisan discussion and undue delay,” ani Panelo.

Nangako rin si Panelo na bubusisiing maigi ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang panukalang 2020 budget.

“The public is assured that the President will carefully scrutinize whatever appropriations bill that will be transmitted to his office by Congress to ensure that the same would be in accordance with the imperatives of the Constitution and responsive to the needs of the Filipino people before it becomes a law,” giit ng kalihim.
