Insulto umanong maituturing ang paninisi ni Rep. Mikee Romero sa Senado sa pagkakabinbin ng budget sa 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Sagot ito ni Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon sa pahayag ni Romero.

“Ito ay malaking insulto sa Senado. This is an insult to the leadership of the Senate,” ani Drilon.

Tinawag din ni Drilon na “misplaced” at “baseless” ang pahayag ni Romero.

Ayon kay Drilon ang delay sa pagpasa ng 2019 national budget ay dahil sa unconstitutional insertions na ginawa ng House of Representatives.

Tinukoy ni Drilon ang P95.3 billion na halaga ng pork barrel funds na pilit isiningit ng mga kongresista.

“To refresh Mr. Romero’s memory, had it not been for the solution or compromise that I proposed, which enabled Senate President Vicente Sotto to sign and send the 2019 budget to Malacañang, we would not have resolved the 2019 budget impasse and we would have continued on a reenacted budget,” ayon sa senador.
