Arestado ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang 36 na Japanese nationals sa isang hotel sa Makati City.
Ang 36 ay pawang sangkot sa telecommunications scam.
Nakipag-ugnayan sa BI ang Japanese government hinggil sa kinakaharap na warrant of arrest nina Nobuki Oshita, 20 at Yusuke Kiya, 33 dahil sa kasong theft sa Japan
Agad na naglabas ng mission order ang BI para maaresto ang dalawang Japanese nationals.
Umabot umano sa mahigit 1,300 na Japanese nationals ang nabiktima sa scam.
Natangay ng mga suspek ang aabot sa 2 billion yen.
Nakakulong ngayon ang mga dayuhan sa BI Detention Facility sa Bicutan, Taguig habang ipinoproseso ang deportation laban sa kanila.
