Kahit itinuturing na agricultural country, patuloy ang pag-aangkat ng Pilipinas ng bigas mula sa ibang bansa.

Dahil dito, naungusan na Pilipinas ang China bilang pinakamalaking rice importer sa buong mundo.

Ngayong taon lang ay umabot sa 2.5 milyong metriko tonelada ng bigas ang inangkat ng Pilipinas.
