Eleksiyon pag-uusapan ng CBCP sa isang plenary assembly

cbcp-selective-justiceSa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, isasagawa ang plenary assembly ng Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines o CBCP sa Cebu City.

Ayon kay CBCP Secretary General Father Marvin Mejia, ang kanilang tatlong araw na plenary assembly ay mula January 22 hanggang 24, kung saan tatalakayin ang mga internal at church matters, maging ilang social issues.

Kabilang din aniya sa malaking isyu ng pag-uusapan sa plenary assembly ng CBCP ay ang nakatakdang May 9 Elections.

Sinabi ni Father Mejia na ang CBCP plenary assembly ay sisimula sa pamamagitan ng isang misa na pangungunahan ni Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto sa Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.

Ang aktwal na meeting ay ipe-preside ni CBCP President Archbishop Socrates Villegas.

Mula nang mabuo ang CBCP nooong 1945, hindi naisagawa ang plenary assembly ng mga miyembro sa labas ng Luzon.

Samantala, inaabangan din ang pagbubukas ng 51st International Eucharistic Congress, na gaganapin din sa Cebu City.
