Pulong sa joint oil exploration sa West Philippine Sea umusad na

Kinumpirma ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na nagkausap na ang mga kinatawan ng Pilipinas at China kaugnay sa panukalang joint oil and gas exploration sa West Philippine Sea.

Sa naganap na October 28 meeting ay nabuo ang Philippines-China Inter-Governmental Joint Steering Committee on Cooperation on Oil and Gas Development.

Sinabi ng DFA na naging maayos naman ang panimulang pag-uusap kaugnay sa joint project.

Ang delagasyon ng Pilipinas ay pinangunahan ni DFA Undersecretary Enrique Manalo at Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui.

“Agreed to further push forward communication and coordination on oil and gas development, with a view to achieving progress in accordance with the MOU,” ayon sa pahayag ng DFA.

Hindi naman nagbigay ng detalye ang DFA kung kailan sisimulan ang proyekto at kung saan sisimulan ang joint exploration.

Nauna nang sinabi ng Malacanang na 60-40 ang magiging hatian sa makukuha sa gagawing exploration.

Noong November, 2018 nabuo ang plano nang dumalaw sa bansa si Chinese President Xi Jinping.
