Robredo: Palyadong drug war dapat nang ihinto ng Duterte admin

Hinimok ni Vice President Leni Robredo ang administrasyong Duterte na itigil na ang palyadong giyera kontra droga.

Sa panayam ng Reuters, sinabi ng bise presidente na mahihirap lang ang target ng drug war at hindi ang malalaking isda sa kalakalan ng bawal na gamot.

Giit ni Robredo, sa kabila ng seryosong mga banta ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa mga sindikato ng droga, nananatiling talamak ang droga sa lipunan kaya’t walang epekto ang drug war.

“We ask ourselves, ‘why is this still happening?’. The president has already made very serious threats to drug syndicates, to drug lords … and yet it’s still very prevalent, so obviously, it’s not working,” ani Robredo.

Marami rin anya sa mga pulis ang inabuso na ang kapangyarihan at hindi napaparusahan kaya’t dito dapat manghimasok ang International Criminal Court.

“We have seen a lot of police that have abused their powers and not been penalized so this is where the International Criminal Court could come in, if we do not show the world that we can take care of our own mess,” dagdag ng bise.

Una nang nagpuyos sa galit ang pangulo sa resolusyon ng United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) na imbestigahan ang umano’y madugong giyera kontra droga sa bansa.

Binawi na rin ng Pilipinas ang pagiging signatory sa Rome Statute na nagtatag sa International Criminal Court dahil sa balak na pag-imbestiga sa drug war.
