US nagpataw ng sanction sa Turkey dahil sa patuloy na pag-atake sa Syria

Pinatawan ng sanctions ng Amerika ang Turkey kasunod ng pag-atake nito sa Syria.

Ayon kay US Vice President Mike Pence, direktang kinausap ni US President Donalt Trump si Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan na nangako umanong hindi magsasagawa n gpag-atake sa border town na Kobani.

Sinabi ni Pence, na ipinabatid ni Trump kay Erdogan na nais ng Amerika na ihinto ng Turkey ang ginagawang invasion sa Syria at agarang magpatupad ng cease-fire at simulan ang negosasyon sa Kurdish forces.

Sa ilalim ng ipatutupad na sanction, sinabi ni Trump na ititigil ng Amerika ang $100 billion trade deal sa Turkey at tataasan pa ang steel tariffs ng hanggang 50%.

Nagpatupad din ng sanction si Trump sa tatlong mataas na Turkish officials at sa defense at energy ministries ng nasabing bansa.

Sinabi naman ni Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin na labis na maaapektuhan ng sanctions mahina nang ekonomiya ng Turkey.
