Tugade sa hamong magcommute: “I have been doing it anyway”

Hindi papatol si Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade sa ‘commute challenge’ ng activist groups.

Sa panayam ng media sa sidelines ng 118th founding anniversary ng Philippine Coast Guard, sinabi ni Tugade na matagal naman na siyang nag-cocommute.

Ayon sa kalihim, kaya niyang ipakita ang pakikiramay sa riding public nang hindi tinatanggap ang mga hamon na anya’y ‘media-oriented’ at ‘psyche challenge’ naman.

“I can demonstrate my empathy without accepting challenges that are basically media-oriented. I will accept the challenge and I will do it on my own time, in my own way, which I have been doing anyway,” ani Tugade.

Sinabi ni Tugade na regular siyang sumasakay sa public transportation tulad ng MRT, P2P at mga jeep kahit walang media.

“Ang diperensiya lang pag ako sumakay hindi ko ho ina-anunsyo. ‘Pag ako sumakay, wala ho akong kasamang media. Sumasakay lang ako ng personal. Minsan kasama ko ‘yung anak ko, ‘yung apo ko minsan ‘yung staff ko,” dagdag ng kalihim.

Tulad ng Malacañang, pinabulaanan ni Tugade na walang transport crisis at ang mayroon lamang ay transport issues.

Hindi umano nangangahulugang ang katumbas ng problema at isyu ay krisis.

“Mayroong transport problems, mayroong transport issues – that is given, pero ina-address ‘yan. Komo ba may transport problem may transport issue, mayroon nang transport crisis? Hindi ho dumaan sa ganiyan ‘yan. Kasama na ‘yan sa tinatawag na exacerbating the situation dapat ‘pag nag-exacerbate ka ng situation, dapat ‘wag ganiyan ang gawin natin, magtulungan po tayo,” giit ng kalihim.

Samantala, ngayong araw na gagawin ni Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo ang pagsakay sa public transportation papuntang Malacañang.
