Del Rosario: Arbitral ruling hindi dapat isantabi para magamit ang EEZ

Iginiit ni dating Foreign Affairs Sec. Albert del Rosario na hindi dapat isantabi ng gobyerno ang arbitral ruling pabor sa Pilipinas para lang matuloy ang joint exploration sa China sa Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) ng bansa.

Pinaalalahan ni Del Rosario si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na para magamit ng bansa ang sariling EEZ, hindi dapat balewalain ang desisyon ng international court.

“We would like to respectfully remind the President that ‘to come up with an economic activity’ in our EEZ need not involve setting aside the Arbitral Ruling and running afoul of the Constitution,” ani Del Rosario.

Una rito ay sinabi ni pangulo na isasantabi ng pamahalaan ang ruling ng Permanent Court of Arbitration sa West Philippine Sea at EEZ para matuloy na ang joint oil at gas exploration sa China.

Ayon sa pangulo, hiniling ni Chinese President Xi Jinping na isantabi muna ang ruling para maisakatuparan na ang joint exploration.

Pero paliwanag ni Del Rosario, ang joint exploration sa WPS ay “constitutional and consistent” sa arbitral ruling kung magkakaroon ng service contract ang China sa Pilipinas.

Ito anya ang magbibigay-daan sa 60-40 na hatian ng kita kung saan mas malaki ang share ng bansa.
