South Koreans nanguna sa tourist arrivals sa bansa ayon sa DOT

Ang South Korea ang may pinakamataas na tourist arrivals sa Pilipinas noong nakaraang taon.

Sa budget briefing ng Department of Tourism (DOT) sa House Appropriations Committee, sinabi ni Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat na ang top 3 markets noong 2018 ay ang South Korea na may 1.62 million, sumunod ang China na may 1.26 million at USA na may 1.03 million.

Sa kabuuan ay 7.17 million ang naitalang inbound visitors habang ang inbound revenue ay pumalo sa P441.4 billion.

Umabot rin sa 12.7 percent ang kontribusyon ng turismo sa gross domestic product (GDP) growth na katumbas ng gross value na P2.2 trillion.

Mas mataas ito ng 14.3 percent kumpara noong 2017.

Mula sa P3.85 billion na proposed budget ng DOT sa 2020, pinakamalaki ang ilalaan sa market development program kasama na ang branding campaign ng Pilipinas na nagkakahalaga ng P1.4 billion.
