5 NPA members patay, 3 sundalo sugatan sa engkwentro sa Negros Occidental
Nasawi ang limang miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA) habang tatlong sundalo naman ang sugatan sa sumiklab na bakbakan sa Escalante, Negros Occidental araw ng Sabado.
Naganap ang engkwentro sa pagitan ng 79th Infantry Battalion ng Philippine Army at halos 30 miyembro ng NPA sa bahagi ng Sitio Morino sa Barangay Paitan.
Dahil dito, ayon kay 3rd Infantry Division spokesperson Capt. Cenon Pancito, inilikas ang nasa 60 pamilya sa lugar.
Pansamantala aniyang nananatili ang mga bakwit sa Paitan Elementary School.
Nabigyan na ng relief goods at tulong-medikal ng City Social Welfare Development Office ang mga apektadong pamilya.
