40 patay sa dengue sa Bicol region

Patuloy ang pagtaas ng kaso ng dengue sa Bicol Region sa kabila ng mga hakbang na ipinatutupad ng health authorities.

Ayon sa pinakahuling datos ng Department of Health (DOH) Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (RESU), mula January 1 hanggang August 24 ay umabot na sa 5,846 ang bilang ng natamaan ng dengue sa Bicol.

Ayon kay DOH-RESU director Dr. Aurora Daluro, apatnapu ang nasawi sa sakit na karamihan ang mga bata.

Ani Daluro, idineklara nang dengue hotspots ang 102 baranggay sa 33 lungsod at bayan sa Bicol Region.

Una rito, ipinag-utos ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa Bicol sa local government officials ang regular na pagsasagawa ng “Sabayang 4 O’clock habit para Deng-Get Out” cleanliness drive.

Nagsasagawana rin ng dengue control measures ang inter-agency Emergency Operation Center na binuo ng Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC).
