OWWA handang tulungan ang stranded OFWs na pa-Hong Kong

Ipinahayag ng Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ang kahandaang tulungan ang mga overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) na patungo sanang Hong Kong ngunit stranded ngayon sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Ito ay dahil pa rin sa serye ng anti-government protests sa Hong Kong na nakaapekto na sa mga flights.

Sa isang Twitter post, sinabi ni OWWA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac na maaaring dumulog sa hotline 1348 ng ahensya ang stranded OFWs.

Pinalalapit din ang mga OFWs sa mga counters ng OWWA sa NAIA terminals 1, 2 at 3.

Una rito, ipinanukala ang deployment ban ng OFWs sa Hong Kong.

Pero ayon kay Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III, hihintayin muna ang assessment ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at ang periodic report ng Labor Attache sa Hong Kong bago ikonsider ang deployment ban.

Sa ngayon anya ay wala pang ginagawang pagtaas sa alert level kaya’t mananatiling normal ang deployment ng Pinoy workers.
