UK citizens binalaan sa sea travel sa Pilipinas
Pinayuhan ng United Kingdom ang mga mamamayan nito na iwasan ang sea travel sa Pilipinas lalo na ang pagsakay sa ferries at passenger boats.
Sa updated travel advisory ng UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office para sa Pilipinas, binanggit ang Iloilo-Guimaras sea tragedy noong Sabado, August 3.
Pinaiiwas ang UK citizens na bumiyahe damit ang sasakyang pandagat mula Hunyo hanggang sa Disyembre dahil panahon ito ng tag-ulan.
Sinabi pa ng UK na kadalasang overloaded at posibleng kulang ang lifesaving equipment ang mga pampasaherong sasakyan pandagat ng bansa.
“They are often overloaded, may lack necessary lifesaving equipment or be inadequately maintained and have incomplete passenger manifests,” ayon sa advisory.
Magugunitang tatlong motorized banca ang lumubog habang nasa gitna ng katubigan ng Iloilo at Guimaras noong Sabado at ikinasawi ng 28 katao.
