Duterte sa China: Isapinal na ang Code of Conduct sa South China Sea
Kinakalampag na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang China na madaliin na ang pagsasapinal ng Code of Conduct sa South China Sea.
Sa panayam ng media sa Pangulo sa premiere ng pelikulang “Kontradiksyon” sa Megamall sa Mandaluyong City, sinabi nito na ito ay para hindi na lumala ang tensyon sa mga pinag-aagawang teritoryo sa South China Sea.
Sinabi ng Pangulo na habang tumatagal at hindi nabubuo ang Code of Conduct, patuloy na naaakit ang Amerika at Western powers na subukan at samantalahin ang sitwasyon.
Kapag nagkaroon aniya ng isang “miscalculation,” tiyak na gulo ang resulta nito.
“China should by now be ready with the Code of Conduct because the longer it takes for them to do it, the more they are egging, titillating America and the rest of the Western powers to test the waters always and one day a single miscalculation, it could be a silent irritation but if it explodes, the consequences are really terrible, it should not be acceptable to anybody,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Matatandaan na sa ASEAN Summit sa Bangkok, Thailand, nadismaya si Pangulong Duterte dahil sa kabiguan na mabuo ang Code of Conduct sa South China Sea.
