DENR ipapasara ang mga establisyimento na dahilan ng polusyon sa Manila Bay

Nagbalala ang Department of Environment and Natural Resouces (DENR) sa mga establisyimento na hindi lang nila ipapasara kundi iuutos nila ang full shutdown ng kanilng operasyon.

Ayon kay DENR Undersecretary Benny Antiporda, ipapatupad nila ang batas laban sa establisyimento na dahilan ng polusyon sa Manila Bay.

Ngayon ay titiyakin ng DENR ang shut down ng full operation hindi lamang pagpapasara ng establisyimento.

“This time we’ll try to make sure that [it will] shut down their full operation […] unlike before na shutdown lang natin yung gripo, waterwaste nila (unlike before when we just shut down their faucets and waterwaste),” ani Antiporda sa sidelines ng pagbubukas ng Art For Manila Bay Rehabilitation Exhibit sa Solaire Resort and Casino sa Paranaque City.

Dagdag ng opisyal, ang business permit ng “polluting establishments” ay pansamantalang sususpendihin hanggat hindi nakakasunod sa clean water act at lahat ng environmental laws.

Nabigyan na anya ng sapat na panahon ang mga establisyimento para sumunod sa rules.

Una rito, ilang estiblisyimento na ang tinawag na Manila Bay polluters at pinatawan ng cease and desist order ng Laguna Lake Development authority (LLDA).

Nagpositibo sa mataas na lebel ng fecal coliform ang nakolektang wate samples mula sa mga establisyimento.
