Domestic water allocation sa Metro Manila babawasan na simula Sabado
Nakatakdang bawasan ng National Water Resources Board (NWRB) simula Sabado, June 1 ang alokasyon ng tubig mula sa Angat Dam para sa domestic use ng Metro Manila.
Ito ay dahil sa inaasahang patuloy na pag-iral ng El Niño sa mga susunod na buwan at patuloy ding pagbaba ng antas ng tubig sa Angat Dam.
Sa monitoring ng PAGASA Hydrology Division, bumaba pa sa 169.88 meters ang lebel ng tubig sa Angat Dam kahapon mula sa 170.19 meters noong Lunes.
Ang naturang lebel ng tubig ay lubhang mas mababa sa 212-meter normal high water level at 180-meter minimum operating level ng dam.
Ayon kay NWRB Executive Director Sevillo David Jr., magkakaroon ng kaunting adjustment sa water allocation para sa domestic use ng Metro Manila.
Mula 48 cubic meters per second (cms) ngayong May ay ibababa ang alokasyon sa 46 cms simula Sabado.
Tiniyak naman ni David na wala masyadong magiging epekto ito sa mga residente sa Metro Manila.
Nauna nang sinuspinde ng NWRB ang alokasyon ng tubig para sa irigasyon sa Bulacan at Pampanga noong May 16.
