Usapin sa South China Sea tatalakayin ni Pangulong Duterte kay Japan PM Shinzo Abe sa pagbisita ng pangulo sa Tokyo

Tatalakayin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kay Japan PM Shinzo Abe ang usapin sa South China Sea.

Ito ay sa nakatakdang pagbisita ng pangulo sa Tokyo sa susunod na linggo.

Ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) magpupulong ang dalawang lider sa sidelines ng 25th Nikkei Conference on the Future of Asia sa May 31.

Sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Meynardo Montealegre na ang peace and stability sa rehiyon ay “mutual concern” ng Pilipinas at Japan, at ang South China Sea ay sentro nito.

Bahagi din ng Duterte-Abe summit ang pag-uusap tungkol sa defense and security, economic cooperation, infrastructure development, ang pagpasok ng Filipino skilled workers sa Japan, tulong ng Japan sa development ng Bangsamoro region at ang sitwasyon sa Korean Peninsula.

Huling nagkapulong ang dalawang lider noong Nobyembre sa sidelines ng 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit sa Singapore.
