NEDA: 7-8% GDP growth target hindi ‘achievable’ sa Duterte term

Hindi “achievable” o hindi maaabot ang inisyal na target na gross domestic product (GDP) growth na 7 hanggang 8 porsyento sa ilalim ng adminitrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte o hanggang 2022.

Ayon kay National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Ernesto Pernia, hindi maaabot ang average na 7-8 percent sa ilalim ng administrasyon.

Matatandaan na inihayag ng Development Budget Coordinationg Committee (DBCC) ang naturang GDP growth target para sa 2018 hanggang 2022.

Base sa datos ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), ang paglago ng ekonomiya ay bumaba sa 5.6 percent sa unang kwarter ng 2019, pinakamabagal sa loob ng 4 na taon.

Ito ay mas mababa sa 6.5 percent sa first quarter ng 2018 at 6.3 percent sa fourth quarter noong nakaraang taon.

Sinabi ni Pernia na sa pangakalahatan ay mas mabuting taon ang 2018.

Pero kahit hindi maabot ang inisyal na target, kumpyansa pa rin si Pernia na mangayayari ang Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.

Gumagawa na anya ng midterm update ng Philippine Development Plan at ito ay mas magiging realistic.
