Higit 12,000 botante naasistehan ng Philippine Red Cross noong May 13

Umabot sa higit 12,000 botante na nangailangan ng atensyong medikal ang natulungan ng Philippine Red Cross (PRC) noong May 13 midterm elections.

Ayon kay PRC Chairman Sen. Richard Gordon, natulungan ng kanilang halos 2,000 personnel ng ang kabuuang 12,766 katao.

Nakapaglatag anya sila ng 310 first aid stations at 158 welfare desks sa mga matataong lugar sa buong bansa.

Sa 12,766, kabuuang 12,535 ang kinailangang mamonitor ang blood pressure.

Umabot naman sa 130 ang nakaranas ng pagkahilo, sugat, cramps, burns, hyperventilation at panghihina.

Nakaranas naman ng hirap sa paghinga, paglabo ng mata, pamamanhid at seizure ang 19 katao habang siyam ang dinala sa mga ospital para kaukulang atensyong medikal.

Masaya si Gordon sa naging pagtugon ng kanilang staff at volunteers sa pangangailangan ng mga Filipinong botante.

“To vote is one of the duties of each and every Filipino. To serve the people is the duty of the Philippine Red Cross staff and volunteers. As our fellow Filipinos were busy casting their votes, PRC staff and volunteers were also very much occupied attending to the needs of our fellowmen. Our staff and volunteers have intense compassion to the most vulnerable,” ani Gordon.
