LOOK: Inspeksyon ng DOTr sa ginagawang Ormoc Airport

Nagsagawa ng inspeksyon si Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade at iba pang opisyal sa Ormoc Airport araw ng Huwebes (May 9).

Ang airport ay kasalukuyang isinasailalim sa rehabilitasyon matapos masira ng Super Typhoon Yolanda noong 2013.

Kabilang sa isinaayos ay ang passenger terminal building at binuo rin ang administration building ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Nagsimula ang P34 milyong pisong rehabilitation project noong February 2018 at natapos agad sa loob ng apat na buwan o May 31, 2018.

Inaasahang makakapag-accomodate ng mas maraming pasahero ang terminal building at ang airport runway naman ay pwede na sa mas malalaking eroplano.

Sa ngayon ay pinagaganda rin ang runway ng paliparan na pinaglaanan ng P55 milyon at inaasahang matatapos sa 2020.

Mayroong din P82 milyong asphalt overlay at strip grade correction project na 61% nang kumpleto.

Mula sa 150 square meters ay mas malawak na rin ang airport ngayon sa 1,350 square meters.
