Disbursement sa higit 300,000 na kumuha ng maternity benefit, umabot sa P7B – SSS
Umabot na sa mahigit P7 bilyon ang na-disburse ng Social Security System (SSS) para sa mahigit 300,000 babaeng miyembro na kumuha ng maternity benefit noong 2018.
Ayon kay SSS President at Chief Executive Officer Aurora Ignacio, mas mataas ang naturang bilang ng 12.6 percent kumpara sa mahigit P6 bilyong naitala noong 2017.
“We are glad that we are able to assist more of our female members financially during their pregnancy in 2018. We have recorded an increase of 12.6 percent or 36,550 female members more who availed of the benefit in 2018 compared to the previous year,” pahayag ni Ignacio.
Aniya pa, tiyak na mas dadami pa ang kukuha ng maternity benefits lalo’t nalagdaan na ang expanded maternity law o nagbibigay ng 105 na araw na leave para sa mga ginang na bagong panganak.
Nabatid na 68.2 percent sa mga kumuha ng benepisyo ay mga employee member habang ang 25 percent ay voluntary members.
Samantala, nakapagtala naman ang SSS ng mahigit P1 bilyong disbursement sa unang dalawang buwan ng taong 2019 o katumbas ng 62,000 beneficiaries.
Nabatid na mula sa dating 32,000 pesos na maximum financial assistance, maari nang umabot ang maternity benefits ng hanggang 70,000 pesos kung ibabase sa 20,000 pesos na monthly salary credit.
