PH Navy tatanggap ng 2 bagong helicopters mula sa UK

Makatatanggap ng dalawang bagong anti-submarine helicopters mula sa United Kingdom ang Philippine Navy sa susunod na linggo.

Ayon kay Navy spokesman Capt. Jonathan Zata, ang dalawang helicopters na AW-159 “Wildcats” ay nasa biyahe na papunta sa bansa.

Ang dalawang brand new at state-of-the-art helicopters na ito ay binili ng P5.4 bilyon sa Leonardo, UK bilang bahagi ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) modernization program.

Noong nakaraang buwan ay nagtungo sa UK sina Navy chief Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad at iba pang defense officials para sa pre-delivery test at inspeksyon ng dalawang helicopters.

Swak ang pagdatingng bagong anti-submarine helicopters sa dalawang missile-firing frigates ng Navy na kinabibilangan ng BRP Jose Rizal na ilulunsad naman at idedeliver mula South Korea sa katapusan ng buwang ito.
