Deployment ng OFWs sa Libya ipinatigil na ng DOLE

Ipinag-utos ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang total deployment ban sa mga overseas Filipino workers sa Tripoli at ilang distrito sa Libya.

Ito ay dahil sa nagpapatuloy na kaguluhan sa North African country.

Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Labor Secretary Silvestro Bello III na nilabas ang ban matapos ang isinagawang konsultasyon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Ani Bello, paaantala ang biyahe ng mga Filipino worker sa Tripoli at ilang lugar na pasok sa 100-kilometer radius nito.

Noong Lunes, itinaas sa Alert Level III ng DFA ang Tripoli, Tajoura, Ghot Romman, Qaraboli, Qasr Khiyar, Esbea, Tarhuna, Bani Waled, Gharyan, Aziziya, Warshifana, Zawia, Surman, at Sabratha.

Sa kasalukuyan ay mayroong higit sa 1,000 ang bilang ng mga manggagawang Pinoy sa nasabing lugar.
