Malakanyang sumang-ayon kay Senior Associate Justice Carpio na patrimonial asset ng bansa ang Reed Bank

Kumambiyo si Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo sa naunang pahayag nito na hindi patrimonial asset o yaman ng bansa ang Reed Bank na mayaman sa natural gas.

Kahapon sinabi ni Panelo na walang batas na nagdedeklara na patrimonial asset ang Reed Bank.

Pero sa pahayag ni Panelo ngayong araw, sinabi nitong sumasang-ayon siya sa pahayag ni Senior associate justice Antonio Carpio na deklaradong patrimonial asset ang Reed Bank na sinasabing ginawang collateral ng Pilipinas para sa US$62 million na loan sa China para sa Chico River Irrigation Project.

Pero ayon kay Panelo, hindi pa rin nagbabago ang kanyang posisyon na hindi mangyayari na maangkin ng China ang Reed Bank dahil makakayanan ng bansa na bayaran ang naturang utang.

Napakaliit na halaga lamang aniya ng US$62 million para hindi mabayaran ng Pilipinas.
