Pinakabatang obispo sa Pilipinas inordinahan

Iniluklok bilang ikaapat na obispo ng Diocese of Daet si Bishop Rex Andrew Alarcon.

Si Alarcon ang pinakabatang obispo ngayon sa Pilipinas sa edad na 48.

Ang Rite of Liturgical Reception and Canonical Installation kay Alarcon ay isinagawa kahapon (March 20) sa pangunguna nina Archbishop Gabrielle Caccia, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, at Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, Apostolic Nuncio to Australia.

Bukod sa mga pari, obispo at mga mananampalataya, dumalo rin sa selebrasyon ang matataas na opisyal mula sa national at local governments kabilang na si Vice President Leni Robredo.

Pamumunuan ng bagong obispo ang higit kalahating milyong Katoliko sa 30 parokya ng Camarines Norte.

Si Alarcon ay inordinahang pari para sa Archdiocese of Caceres taong 1996.

Taong 2001 ay nakuha nito ang kanyang licentiate in Church history sa Pontifical Gregorian University sa Rome, Italy.

ng 2013 ay hinawakan ni Alarcon ang Office of Superintendent of the Catholic schools of Caceres, at siya rin ang spokesperson ng arkidiyosesis.
