Higit 300,000 negosyo at kabahayan sa Leyte at Samar, 14 na oras mawawalan ng kuryente
Halos kalahati ng Eastern Visayas ang makararanas ng 14 na oras na power interruptions bukas, araw ng Sabado.
Ito ay dahil sa gagawing expansion project at synchronized maintenance and rehabilitation activities ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines o NGCP.
Sa abiso ng NGCP, ang buong Samar Island at ilang bahagi ng Leyte ay mawawalan ng kuryente mula alas 4:00 ng madaling araw bukas (November 28) hanggang alas 6:00 ng gabi.
Apektado ng nasabing power outage ang nasa 320,817 households at mga business establishments sa Samar, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, at bahagi ng northern Leyte.
Tinatayang 44 percent ng Eastern Visayas Region ang maapektuhan ng blackout.
Partikular na aayusin ng NGCP ang Babatngon substation para sa expansion project nito.
Ang Babatngon facility sa Leyte ang nagsu-suplay ng ng kuryente sa Tacloban at sa mga kalapit na bayan ng Palo at Babatngon, gayundin sa bahagi Samar at sa buong Eastern Samar.
Ang Catbalogan sub-station naman ang nagsusuplay ng kuryente as ibang lugar sa Samar at sa kabuuan ng Northern Samar province.
