Comelec, target ang 16% overseas voter turnout

Target ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na umabot sa humigit-kumulang 16 porsyentong overseas voter turnout.

Ayon kay Elaiza Sabile-David, director in charge para sa overseas voting, laging mababa ang overseas voter turnout sa mga nagdaang eleksyon sa bansa.

Paliwanag ni David, madalas tuwing midterm elections mababa ang turnout.

Posible aniyang mas interesado ang publiko na bumoto tuwing presidential elections.

Aniya pa, isang problema na nakikita rito ay ang kakulangan sa naipadadalang impormasyon sa publiko hinggil sa mga kumakandidato sa eleksyon.

Makatutulong aniya sa pagtaas ng bilang ng voter turnout ay ang dagdag na announcement at paalala sa eleksyon.

Nakikipag-ugnayan din aniya ang mga election officer sa mga pamilya ng mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW) sa Pilipinas na makiisa sa voter’s education program.

Magsisimula ang overseas voting sa April 13 hanggang May 13, 2019.
