3rd martial law extension sa Mindanao kinatigan ng Supreme Court
Pinagtibay ng Korte Suprema ang ikatlong ekstensyon ng martial law sa Mindanao region.
Sa botong 9-4, idineklara ng Supreme Court ang martial law na constitutional.
Ang mga pumabor ay sina Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin, Justices Diosdado Peralta, Mariano Del Castillo, Estela Perlas Bernabe, Andres Reyes Jr., Alexander Gesmundo, Ramon Paul Hernando at Rosmari Carandang.
Kabilang naman sa mga tumutol ay sina Justices Antonio Carpio, Marvic Leonen, Francis Jardeleza at Alfred Benjamin Caguioa.
Ang ikatlong martial law extension ay hanggang December 31, 2019.
Dahil naman sa pasya ng Korte Suprema, ang apat na petisyon laban sa pagpapalawig ng Batas Militar sa Mindanao ay ibinasura na.
Kabilang sa mga naghain ng petisyon kontra sa pagpapatuloy ng pagpapatupad ng batas militar sa Mindanao ay ang mga political critics ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
